Hello Carp AYSO Families,

Final team formation is happening now with coaches being notified in the next day or two.  Coaches will be reaching out to their teams within a week.

The next major steps to ensuring a successful season are to get all the volunteer roles filled and training completed.  The 3 most critical roles to fill now are Coach, Assistant Coach, and Referee (8U and above).  Team parent, field lining assistant, and other roles will be needed as well; start thinking about what role you’d like.

Coach and Referee Training is a mix of online and in-person training:

1. Sign up as a volunteer at www.carpsoccer.org.You’ll be required to complete a background check. You should NOT be assessed a fee.If you are, you will be reimbursed.
2. Sign up at www.AYSOU.org after logging into Sports Connect through www.carpsoccer.org.Login credentials are sync’d overnight; wait a day if you just created your login at carpsoccer.org.

    

3. Required Coach Training includes Safe Haven, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and Division-specific coach training:
   1. Online Course: Select YOUR division.  For example, for 8U: Online Courses > Coaching Courses > 8U Coaching Training
      
      
   2. In Person Courses: August 21 or 28 in Santa Barbara.(GIRSH PARK – behind the shopping center; South Side in the middle by the park building complex)
      1. Saturday, August 21 – 8:30am to 1230 pm (5U & 8U); 9:30am to 4pm (10U), 9:30am to 5:00 pm (12U); 1:00pm to 4:30pm (6U)
      2. Saturday, August 28 – 8:30am to 1230 pm (6U & 8U); 9:30am to 4pm (10U), 9:30am to 5:00 pm (12U); 2:00pm to 4:45pm (5U)
      3. Register at aysou.org.Select YOUR division.For example for 8U:In Person Courses > Coach Instructor Led Courses > 8U Coach 8U Coach > Santa Barbara U8 Coach Class 8:30 am to 12:30 pm - 10/W/0122 Santa Barbara CA

       

4. Required Referee training includes Safe Haven, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and Referee training:
   1. Online Course: Aysou.org > Online Courses > Refereeing Courses > Regional Referee Training
      
      
   2. In Person Course: September 4th at El Carro Park from 3-6.
