Team Volunteer Requirements

MY2021 Team Volunteer Requirements



Volunteer requirements must be met for teams (U6 teams and above) to qualify for Carpinteria League Playoffs (games 9 & 10) and for teams (U10 teams and above) to qualify for the Area League Playoff tournament in Camarillo.   

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:                            
Coach/Assistant Coach – Division appropriate training, Safe Haven Certification as of August 2021 or later.       
Team Parent - Safe Haven Certification             
Field Monitor - Field Monitor training, Safe Haven Certification 
Field Prep - Field Prep training, Safe Haven Certification.     
U8 Official -  U8 Official training, Safe Haven Certification as of August 2021 or later, and Concussion Awareness training.
Referee -  Minimum of Basic Referee training, Safe Haven Certification as of August 2021 or later, and Concussion Awareness training.
Note: If advancing to the Area League Playoff tournament all coaches, assistant coaches, team parents and field monitors must have completed Safe Haven and Concussion Awareness training as of August 2021 or later.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
           U6 Teams:
• One Team Coach
• One Assistant Coach or Team Parent
• One Field Prep

U8 Teams:
• One Team Coach
• One Assistant Coach or Team Parent
• One Field Prep
• Two U8 Game Officials:  
 Home team provides Game Official.  
 During 8 game season, teams will cover their 4 home games for a total of 4 referee points.  
 RECOMMENDED that U8 game officials AR a U10 game with a mentor at least one time during the season.
 In order to get referee points, coach must notify Regional Referee Scheduler (Derek Lohuis) name of U8 game official covering the game by the Thursday prior to the game.  
U10, U12, U14, U16/19 Teams: 
• One Team Coach
• One Assistant Coach 
• One Team Parent
• One Field Prep
• One Field Monitor (will have 2-3 assignments during the season)
• Minimum of two Referees (Regional, Intermediate or Advanced)
 Must earn 16 referee points over the course of the 8-week season*  
 U10-U12 center referees earn 2 points per game
 U14-U16/19 center referees earn 3 points per game
 Assistant Referees earn 1 point per game (AR’s can referee their child’s game)
 Referee assignments are self-scheduled
*Teams are not expected to referee when traveling.  Teams are expected to referee a sufficient number of games to meet the referee point requirement over the course of the 8-week season when games are played in Carpinteria.
